I was a guest at Churchill Downs this past weekend for the surviving families recognition day.
The staff I met, talked with, were so friendly, nice, worked so hard and such awesome people.
The buffet was so beautiful, great selection and such tasteful food.
I loved millionaires row, the entertainment and the service was simply out of this world.
Thank you!!!
Fabulous! Beautiful race track, seating nicely sectioned and plentiful. Need to have more wagering windows open to cut down on the long lines. But wonderful experience overall. Like Arnold, "I'll be back!"
Went to the Derby last year however I stopped by for Mother's Day this year. Always a great place to stop by to enjoy the racing & environment. I'll be back for the 150th.
The Kentucky Derby is a horse race held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, almost always on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The competition is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds at a distance of one and a quarter miles at Churchill Downs. Beautiful horses and gorgeous people. Life experience. My favorite horse is Tapit Trice.
Wish we had more time to fully take in the history. Our tour guide gave a superb presentation of the grounds and getting to see the track and winner's circle was a highlight. So much history.
This is a can't miss place in Kentucky, or the US for that matter. Whether you like the sport or not, you simply can't help being impressed by the majesty of the thoroughbreds, the beauty of the stadium or the fearlessness of the jockeys. Make sure to book early for any tour that gets you closer to the horses or you'll only see the inside museum, which is not nearly enough for a full experience.
This is a must stop for horse racing buffs of all ages. The tour leads people through the story of the Kentucky Derby, the betting system at the races, the vip people attending it, the curious bits about jockeys and breeding champions like Secreteriat .
Paid for the 70 dollar brunch which gives access to the races as well. Brunch was abysmal for the price, I would not recommend. Multiple food options advertised on the website were not available, and the food that was available was not impressive. Pulled many spoiled pieces of lettuce out of my salad. The racetrack and races are interesting, but do not waste any money on the brunch.
